Sorry I missed last week's flowspiration post--I was miserably ill that day. This week, however, we have a fantastic video from DRT Nation, featuring lots and lots of fire (and some risqué costumes, so may be a bit nsfw). Soundtrack is Ellie Goulding's "Burn," naturally.

Sorry for my long absence. I've been out a laptop for about a month, but it has been repaired and is back in its rightful place on my desk. I will be resuming regular posting on Sundays and Wednesdays now that my setup is back to normal.

This week, we've got a unique video in which Matt Brenner spins fire poi for a thermal imaging system. Definitely makes you look at fire arts in a new way!

It's our last flow post of the year, and what's more inspiring than teamwork? To celebrate the turning of the year, I've got two partner poi videos this week. Flowtoys.com chose LOOOOP POI from the flow group LOOOOP as one of their favorite flow videos of 2014, and it's easy to see why. These four spinners are both playful and technical, with beautiful planes and stunning synchronicity against a gorgeous backdrop. In "Broken Toe Bros", Vojta Stolbenko and Ronan McLoughin create amazing geometries as they combine their styles into a truly impressive partner piece.

Happy 2015, and may the new year bring you clean planes, smooth flow, and some eye-catching new tricks to learn.

In "4 Poi by the Gulf," Chris Rovo shows off some slick 4-poi skills that don't rely on the contact moves that are currently common in 4-poi manipulation. This guy is all spin.

This week, Julia "Jewelz" Phillips celebrates her second hoopiversary at the Sunken Gardens in Lincoln, Nebraska. She spins up a gorgeous flow with hooping, minis, poi, and flow wand.

I've got a double-dose of fire for you all this week. The first vid is an absolutely gorgeous compilation from Kinetic Fire 2014, showing off a variety of flow artists and a wide array of fire props. In the second, Linda Farkas gives us a mesmerizing performance with her prototype of a new prop, the contact staffhoop. What a gorgeous style of movement she creates with it!

They are here, spinning their hearts out in Liz Knights's collab video, Ladies of Tech Poi 2014. It clocks in at just over 23 minutes, but it is absolutely worth setting aside some watch time to see all these awesome gals rocking their art. Enjoy!

I just realized I totally forgot this week's progress update post. Inconsistent mod is inconsistent. Sorry! So let's double up in case weather prevents me from doing this week's video tomorrow, too.

This week is Chris Kelly rocking some 4-poi manipulation, which is a first for me! I've seen plenty of 3-poi work, but this is the first time I've seen four.

I hope everyone is staying warm or cool as appropriate this week. Personally, I've been huddled under blankets as much as possible for the past few days and wondering how people who live in actual cold places do it.

Anyway! I couldn't decide this week between two videos to share, so you get them both. First up is some fabulous 3-poi spinning from Tori Johnson, then a charming 1920s gangster-inspired hoop dance performance by Dogtown Hoop Mafia. Enjoy!

Ah, late video is late this week. I've been super behind in my watching (like, we're talking 70+ videos queued up to be watched), but I jumped on it in my unexpected free time this morning, and I found a real gem. This extended partner performance includes nearly a dozen different props and makes use of blacklight, LED, and fire. Combine that with the performers' fabulous flow and chemistry, and you have 15 minutes very well spent.

Hanukkah starts tonight and tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the US, so if you observe either or both of them, I wish you a happy one. Today we have three videos to get you in the groove for the holiday season.
